Liverpool beat Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday to move 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds knew they could deliver a statement at the Etihad Stadium after watching Arsenal lose against West Ham on Saturday.

However, in order to do so they’d have to win at a ground they hadn’t tasted victory at since 2015.

With City in poor form, though – and missing Erling Haaland – Liverpool came out firing, racing into a two goal lead before half-time.

Szoboszlai has indeed become a key man for Liverpool this season.

After struggling to win over plenty of the Reds support, the Hungary captain is now one of the first names on the team sheet.

Slot loves the relentless engine Szoboszlai brings to the team and that was on full display at City.

The No.8 was spotted sinking to the turf in exhaustion at the final whistle and he admitted to running on empty while speaking to the press post-match.

As a result, it may be an idea for Slot to give Szoboszlai a little rest during Wednesday’s game against Newcastle.

After such a top performance, though, the Liverpool head coach may not
