Liverpool’s recent Anfield concerts have seen the club raise plenty of funds for the local economy a new report shows.

There have been plenty of concerts held at the iconic stadium over the past few years, including Taylor Swift, P!nk, and The Rolling Stones have helped to provide jobs for thousands of local people – with Dua Lipa recently announced as the latest artist to hold a concert at Anfield

Dua Lipa will be performing on Merseyside next summer as part of her Radical Optimism Tour with the date for the actual performance being Tuesday June 24th 2025.

Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” took center stage at Anfield with a three-night residency earlier this year in June.

The Taylor Swift concerts in June were a hit with the American pop sensation a big fan of the city.

Each concert attracted over 55,000 attendees, including Liverpool’s former manager Jürgen Klopp.

Swift’s performance on the first night was also notable as it marked the 100th show of her worldwide “Eras Tour.”

The back-to-back sellout concerts highlighted Anfield’s reputation as a premier venue for global music acts.

In addition to Taylor Swift, Anfield also welcomed P!nk as part of her “Summer Carnival 2024” tour.

This was her second time performing at Anfield, following her successful show there in 2019.

And now the impact of these concerts on the city of Liverpool have been revealed.

How much did the Anfield concerts raise for the city of Liverpool?

A report by Turley Economics has shed light on just how much money has been pumped into the local economy as a result of the Anfield concerts.

Since 2019, the stadium has welcomed seven major artists across 11 concerts, attracting nearly half a million visitors.

Previous concerts featuring acts like Bon Jovi, Elton John, and The Eagles not only provided entertainment but also created significant employment opportunities.

Each event required a minimum of 1,450 staff members, with 85% of them sourced from within Liverpool and more than half under the age of 30.

This local hiring approach has played a role in supporting the city’s economy and offering young people work experience.

As a result, Turely Economics assert that concerts held over the past five years have injected over £31 million and creating thousands of job opportunities.

Ben Latty, Liverpool FC’s chief commercial officer, said: “We’re delighted to play our part in boosting the local economy and providing local jobs through the staging of concerts at Anfield.

“Anfield has attracted the biggest stars on the planet, including three nights of Taylor Swift, and we’re very proud of the successes we’ve had so far?

We’ve had incredible feedback from concert-goers, promoters and from local residents alike.”

“We’re excited to recently announce Dua Lipa and we’re working hard to bring more world-class acts to Anfield in 2025.”

Councillor Harry Doyle, Liverpool City Council’s member for culture, said: “The redevelopment of Anfield stadium has been a huge success for the club – and the city.

“The fact this iconic venue now doubles up as a world-leading concert venue each summer has been a tremendous boost to our tourism economy.”

“The calibre of the acts the football club has been able to attract regularly puts Liverpool under a fantastic spotlight too, as we all saw when Taylor Swift came to play, and we look forward to hearing more major announcements for next year.”
