Opta’s supercomputer has predicted the likely outcome of Saturday’s Premier League clash between Liverpool and Fulham.
Liverpool host Fulham on Saturday in their first league game since a 3-3 draw with Newcastle two weeks ago.
While the rest of the Premier League played last weekend, the Reds were given an unlikely rest after their game against Everton was postponed due to adverse weather conditions in the UK.
The fixture has now been proposed for a later date in February, pending approval from UEFA.
Meanwhile, although Liverpool did not feature last weekend, they remained in command of the title race as both Arsenal and Manchester City dropped points.
Chelsea, who beat Tottenham 4-3, were the only top-four side to win their game last weekend?
As such, Liverpool come into this fixture sitting four points ahead of the Blues, with one game in hand.
They have the chance to keep that distance at the top against a Fulham side that drew Arsenal last weekend.
The Cottagers have lost just one of their last seven league games (W3, D3), pushing them into the top ten.
Still, the fact that Liverpool have won 12 of their last 13 home games (L1), keeping eight clean sheets in the process, makes them favourites here.
Opta supercomputer has acknowledged Liverpool’s form in their prediction of the Reds’ weekend game against Fulham.
Opta prediction Liverpool vs Fulham
Opta’s supercomputer has crunched the numbers, and Liverpool won 68.6% of their pre-match simulations compared to just 13.8% for Fulham.
Arne Slot’s side have scored two or more goals in each of their last seven Premier League games, their best such run for three years.
However, injuries and suspension could impact the game’s outcome, with both sides set to miss eleven players.
Meanwhile, there is a chance for Mohamed Salah to make history.
The 32-year-old– who scored a penalty in Liverpool’s win against Girona – has the chance to net in an eighth straight top-flight match.
If the Egyptian scores again, he will become just the fourth player to achieve the feat after Ruud van Nistelrooy (twice), Jamie Vardy (twice) and Daniel Sturridge.
