Following months of various speculation, Liverpool supporters were rewarded with good news last Friday as it was confirmed that star man, Mohamed Salah, has extended his time at the club for another two years.
The Egyptian’s new deal will remain until 2027, taking Salah’s stay at Anfield to a whole decade since arriving in 2017.
Liverpool have been in limbo surrounding potential contract renewals for Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, but the club will feel relieved that their world-class winger has finally put-pen-to-paper.
As for the others, reliable reports have said that Alexander-Arnold could be set to sign for Real Madrid, whilst van Dijk’s new contract is expected to be announced imminently.
Mohamed Salah’s new contract sees the Egyptian set to earn a staggering sum that places him amongst the highest earners across the world and we will be revealing the inside truth behind the multi-million pound deal.
SALAH STRIKES GOLD
A record-breaking season results in record-breaking contract numbers and that is exactly what Mohamed Salah has earned at Liverpool.
As the 2024-25 campaign nears its close, the Egyptian has continued to terrorise defences throughout the Premier League and across Europe, amounting to a total of fifty-five goal contributions in all competitions.

In Liverpool’s victory over West Ham on Sunday, Salah registered an eighteenth Premier League assist and became the outright leader for goals and assists in a single 38-game league season, with forty-five.
Thierry Henry set the previous record at forty-four in the 2002-03 season, in which the Arsenal legend racked up twenty-four goals and twenty-assists, but Salah is also within touching distance of the Frenchman for the assist record that currently stands at twenty all-time.
The Liverpool forward needs just three more assists to outshine Henry and Kevin De Bruyne’s tally from the 2019-20 season, with six more matches to do so.
As for the contract numbers, it has been reported that Mohamed Salah has agreed on a financial increase from his previous deal of £350,000 which has saw his status as the club’s highest earner, remain.
Now, the Egyptian’s new contract sees him earn just shy of the £400,000 per-week mark, significantly ahead of captain Virgil van Dijk, but with the Dutchman’s fresh terms pending, he will be recognised on a higher pedestal, closer to Salah.
Liverpool’s star-man is currently experiencing the form of his life under Arne Slot and the supporters will be thrilled that they’ll get to witness his brilliance at Anfield for a further two seasons.

Salah’s new contract terms are the highest that Liverpool have ever paid to a player.
He is set to earn almost £21million per-year but with added clauses in the deal along with whatever bonuses are included, it is estimated that Salah could earn close to £25million per year, totaling to a final amount of £480,000 per week, as reported by The Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe.
This is split into a further seven categories that include what the Egyptian’s monthly earnings (£1.7million), daily (£57,000), per game (£3,500), hourly (£2,400), per minute (£40) and per second (£0.66).
Following keen interest from Saudi Arabia, it appeared that Liverpool had to go to lengths they have never seen before, in discussions to tempt Salah to stay.
Notably, Saudi Arabia was never considered as an option for the Egyptian with him fully focused on continuing at the highest level and competing for major honours at Liverpool.
It has been reported that Salah even turned down a lucrative offer of £500million from the Middle East, to commit his future to Anfield.
Liverpool’s wage structure has been obliterated with the Reds having to pull out all the stops for the Egyptian to be rewarded with a contract he felt he deserved.
Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have often been apprehensive on rewarding their older players with bumper new contract terms, but Salah is the one of the few exceptions.
A WORLD PHENOMENON
Mohamed Salah’s new Liverpool contract not only accelerates his status among the Premier League’s top earners, but also worldwide.
His reported £400,000 has placed the forward upon a pedestal that is only bettered by some of Saudi Arabia’s finest.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s is the world’s highest paid footballer on upwards to £3million-per-week at Al Nassr, with Al Ittihad’s Karim Benzema the next best, at £2million.

Former Manchester City winger, Riyad Mahrez, now of Al-Ahli, earns a reported £1million in weekly wages whilst Mo Salah’s wages sees him fall short of those figures by quite a distance, but still joint sixth in Europe, alongside Kevin De Bruyne, who will be waving goodbye to Manchester in the coming months.
Mohamed Salah will be thirty-five when his new Liverpool contract expires, but he remains disciplined in a way that his body allows him to continue at the top level for a few more years.
In spite of the hefty sum, the Merseyside club could not afford to lose Salah for free and a two-year extension was the most logical outcome.
That’s two more years of the most-feared man in the Premier League.
Liverpool is the Egyptian’s stage and Anfield is his throne.
