The Times have revealed the amount Bournemouth want for Milos Kerkez.
The Reds are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Bournemouth’s highly-rated left back as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 21-year-old Hungarian international has impressed in his debut Premier League campaign, and his performances have caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe.
However, Liverpool appear to be leading the race for his signature, with discussions said to be progressing well.
The Reds’ interest in Kerkez comes amid concerns over the form and long-term viability of their current left-back options.
Andy Robertson, a mainstay of Liverpool’s defense since 2017, has experienced a noticeable dip in performance this season.
His crossing accuracy and progressive carries have declined, and at 31 years old, questions are being raised about whether he can continue to meet the physical demands of Arne Slot’s high-intensity system.
Kostas Tsimikas, meanwhile, has struggled for consistency when deputizing for Robertson, leaving Liverpool in need of a younger, dynamic option to compete for the position.
Milos Kerkez’s recent decision to switch agents to Fali Ramadani, who facilitated Federico Chiesa’s transfer to Liverpool in 2024, could simplify potential negotiations for a move to Anfield.
Bournemouth seems prepared for his departure, having already signed 20-year-old Julio Soler as a potential replacement.
This season, Kerkez is the only Bournemouth player to appear in all twenty-nine Premier League matches, whilst featuring in the top ten Premier League players for both total distance covered (278.5km – 10th) and total sprints (616 – 5th) and appears the perfect left-back target for Arne Slot’s Reds.
That’s to add to his 7 goal contributions in Bournemouth’s overachieving league campaign.
Now the Times’ Gary Jacob has reported that the Cherries have set a £45 million price tag on left-back Milos Kerkez, following Liverpool’s interest in signing the 21-year-old.
And amid talks of possible player swap + cash deals, this has been ruled out.
Bournemouth are seeking a straight cash deal and are not open to including Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher or any other player as part of the transfer.
They want £45 million in cash.
Bournemouth chairman Bill Foley is reluctant to sell key players but has indicated he would not block moves for those wishing to leave.
Speaking to talkSPORT this month, Foley said:
“We have a lot of our players under long-term contracts and most do not have a release clause,” he said.
“We never stand in the way of a player in the event they have an opportunity they feel is a better opportunity, but we’re trying to make sure we have a team and an environment that attracts good young players.”
