The Telegraph has revealed the amount Liverpool may have to pay to sign Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez has been one of the many names linked with a summer move to Anfield.
After very minimal transfer activity in the last two windows, Liverpool are expected to be busy in the summer.
The Reds will likely sanction the sale of Darwin Nunez, meaning that attacking reinforcements will be a priority when the next window opens.
There is also a need for defensive reinforcements, with the left-back area a priority.
Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Ajax youngster Jorrel Hato are the two names Liverpool are seriously considering.
But Kerkez to Liverpool is gaining more traction.
Earlier on Wednesday, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Liverpool has ‘added the Hungarian to their list.’
The Telegraph has also picked up on the story, reporting that “Liverpool are expected to be in the running for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez when the Hungary international goes on the market in the summer.”
The report also reveals that Bournemouth expects to get at least £40 million from the 21-year-old’s sale.
“Kerkez, 21, will command a fee upward of £40 million at the end of the campaign after seeing his value increase in the last two seasons following his move from AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, in a deal worth £15.5 million,” The Telegraph revealed.
Kerkez has distinguished himself in England’s top flight with his energetic playing style – characterized by tenacious defensive work, frequent forays into attacking positions, and an impressive stamina tank.
Since his £15 million move from AZ Alkmaar to Bournemouth in 2023, the young full-back has swiftly acclimated to the rigours of the Premier League.
The Hungarian, who is good friends with Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, recently spoke about his future.
“A lot can happen in football, but it’s pointless to predict,” Kerkez said about Liverpool while speaking to Nemzeti Sport.
When pressed on whether he could see himself and Szoboszlai at Liverpool together, he gave a measured answer.
“It wouldn’t look bad, that’s for sure?
But it’s too early to talk about something like that.”
“I have big goals with Bournemouth, we still have a lot of games to win, that’s the most important thing right now.”
