Liverpool are looking in good shape as they approach another busy period of their season.
The Reds have often struggled with various injury problems at this stage of previous campaigns, with player after player hitting the treatment room.
But with the Liverpool coaching staff employing slightly new methods of rehabilitation under Arne Slot, they are well stocked heading into February.
And they were given a timely boost in that respect once again on Tuesday, as Joe Gomez made a slightly surprise return before Liverpool’s trip to face PSV Eindhoven.
Gomez had been missing since hobbling off against West Ham on December the 29th with a hamstring issue.
The 27-year-old’s comeback means that Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones are now the only injured members of the Liverpool squad.
Along with many of his senior teammates, the defender has not travelled to the Netherlands.
Clearly, neither have Jota or Jones.
The Portuguese has not featured since his crucial intervention in the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, while Jones went off injured last week in the Champions League tie with Lille.

But speaking on his YouTube channel after Tuesday’s open session at the Liverpool training ground, Lynch reports that both a not expected to be far away from returning.
“Unfortunately no Diogo Jota, but we do hope he will be back soon,” says the journalist.

“Obviously he’s got a niggle of his own that he’s dealing through.
Arne Slot made it sound like he and Gomez were on a similar trajectory in terms of recovery, but it can differ over those final days of the rehabilitation, he always is at pains to express that.
“So, we’ll have to see what that means in terms of him coming back.
Maybe he’ll be out for a couple games more, but we hope not.”
Lynch also provided an update on Gomez’s situation, although stopped short of saying when fans can expect to see their No.2 back in action.
“Obviously he’s been out for a while with a muscle injury, but looking like he’s getting back to full fitness,” he said.
But really good news to have a squad option like Joe Gomez coming back in.”
With the squad list named following Lynch’s update, it is now clear that Gomez will play no part against the Dutch champions.
Given the quick turnaround to Saturday’s game with Bournemouth, it also seems unlikely that we’ll see Joe get any minutes at Dean Court.
