Liverpool took another huge step towards winning the Premier League title away to Leicester City thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The right-back made his return to injury in emphatic fashion as Alexander-Arnold came off the bench to score the winning goal at the King Power Stadium, with Liverpool now three points away from winning the Premier League.

With Liverpool fans cheering on Alexander-Arnold after entering the pitch for the Reds, it was a game to remember for the England international, who will want to wrap up the title as soon as possible for his boyhood club next weekend against Tottenham.

And Alexander-Arnold has now sent a message to Liverpool fans after this afternoon’s win in the East Midlands.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the full-time whistle, the 26-year-old was full of praise for Liverpool supporters in the away end at the King Power Stadium, with Alexander-Arnold amazed with what he saw and heard.

Indeed, the defender is playing what is likely to be his final games for the Reds with Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid expected to go through this summer, with the fullback loving what he saw from supporters today.

Alexander-Arnold said when asked about the reception he recieved from fans at full-time: “[Virgil] pushed me to the front to soak it in to get close and personal – the away fans are amazing.

“They helped us win the game.

As much as we do it for ourselves and our families we do it for the fans.

To be so close to winning a league title , a first one in front of fans which what were missing, it’s very special.”

Alexander-Arnold’s heroics this afternoon will go down in Liverpool folklore as one of the reasons why Arne Slot clinched the Premier League title in his first year in charge of the English giants.

And between now and the end of the season, match going fans will want to shower Alexander-Arnold with love and affection in what will be the defender’s final games for the Reds before swapping Merseyside for Madrid.

The England international has been nothing short of exceptional for Liverpool in his over 300 appearances for the club, and supporters will want to give Alexander-Arnold the send off the fullback deserves.
