Liverpool have missed out on many great players over the years.

From the Loic Remy medical to Nabil Fekir doing a welcome interview with the Merseyside club to the Reds pushing heavily for Timo Werner, there have been some great players to have slipped through Liverpool’s grasp.

This week Man United star, Antony, who is currently on loan at Real Betis, claimed that he almost signed for Liverpool in an interview with Kooora.

“It’s true, I almost signed for Liverpool, but I don’t know what would have happened.

Antony had a very difficult time at Man United and it may have been tougher at Anfield as the winger would not have replaced Mohamed Salah in Jurgen Klopp’s team.

In light of this, RTK have picked out the three best players Liverpool realistically missed out on throughout recent years.

Following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona during the summer of 2014, Liverpool required a new forward after going so close to the Premier League title the season before.

A more recent talent Liverpool missed out on was Jude Bellingham as the English midfielder would complete a move to Real Madrid instead during the summer of 2023.

David Silva is one of the greatest players to have ever played in the Premier League and if it wasn’t for the Spanish midfielder, Liverpool may have more league titles in their trophy cabinet.

In hindsight, this was a terrible mistake as Xabi Alonso would leave Anfield during the same summer and the Merseyside club ended up replacing him with Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

This may go down as the biggest transfer error Liverpool have made in recent years, especially when you consider the World Cup winner joined Man City in the aftermath.
