Liverpool turned in a unbelievably poor performance against Plymouth in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Reds were terrific in midweek, destroying Tottenham and making it to the Carabao Cup final for a second consecutive season.
However, with an enormous clash against Everton to come on Wednesday, Arne Slot understandably changed 10 players from his starting line-up.
That meant a very young Liverpool squad headed to Home Park to face the team bottom of the Championship.
There was bad news from the early knockings of the game, with Joe Gomez taken off injured on his first appearance since the end of December
Worse was to follow for Liverpool, with Harvey Elliott giving away an inexplicable penalty to gift Plymouth the lead.
And with his team so far below their best, Slot was spotted fuming on the touchline.

Sunday was always likely to be a disjointed performance from Liverpool in the FA Cup.
With so many changes made and so few of the usual suspects to call upon, the Reds looked like a team of strangers in the Devon sunshine.

And watching on from the touchline, BBC Sport journalist Phil McNulty spotted Slot looking on ‘in disgust’ at what he was seeing.
“Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has turned around to his backroom staff in disgust on a couple of occasions,” said McNulty.

“He is clearly frustrated by Liverpool’s failure to exert any sort of control against a Plymouth side struggling in the Championship.
“The Premier League leaders may have made those 10 changes but this has still been a distinctly average Liverpool display.”
At no point during Sunday’s game did Liverpool look like getting into their stride.
The Reds were so sloppy throughout the full game and whatever changes were made, they have no right to be happy with any part of their performance.
Given the big games coming up, Slot playing the youngsters was fair enough, but perhaps the Dutchman will look back and wish he’d have taken one or two more senior players.
Lots will have been learnt by both Slot and some of the young Liverpool players out there on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds’ season promises much more, but this was an unbelievably bad day at the office.
