Tottenham Hotspur fans will have mixed feelings going into their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool.
On one hand, they hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.
On the other, Anfield is one of the toughest places to go in English football.
Spurs have suffered injuries at a crucial time, and that has forced manager Ange Postecoglou into a big decision ahead of Thursday’s clash.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will see this as an opportunity.
They are chasing silverware on all fronts and will be confident of overturning the deficit at home.
But they will be up against a new face in the Tottenham lineup, one who has a point to prove.
Tottenham Hotspur new signing to make debut against Liverpool
According to Tottenham News, Tottenham’s new signing, Kevin Danso, is expected to make his debut against Liverpool.
With injuries affecting the squad, the Austrian defender will likely be thrown straight into the deep end.
It will be a baptism of fire at Anfield, but one that could define his early days at Spurs.
John Wenham, owner of Lilywhite Rose, believes this is the biggest match of Postecoglou’s career.
“I’d say this is the biggest game of Postecoglou’s career,” he said, highlighting the pressure on the Tottenham boss.
Wenham also suggested that Danso could replace Archie Gray in the starting XI.
“I think we will see Kinský in goal, Pedro Porro at right-back, and Djed Spence at left-back?
Hopefully, we will see Micky van de Ven start, and then I do believe Alex Danso will make his debut.”
“We’ve paid decent money for him so bring him straight into the team and let him play.”
If Danso puts in a strong performance, he could instantly become a fan favorite.
But with Liverpool pushing for the final, he will have to be at his very best to keep them out.
