Tottenham's social media team have poked fun at Jamie Carragher after the pundit claimed he would be "shocked" if they beat Brentford - before being left red-faced after Ange Postecoglou's men secured a 2-0 win.

Spurs earned their first win in eight matches with an impressive display at the G-Tech Community Stadium thanks to an own goal from Vitaly Janelt and a late strike by Pape Sarr.

Tottenham had been engulfed by a crisis before the game after slipping to 16th in the Premier League following 13 defeats, but Carragher's words were particularly brutal as he made his prediction before kick-off.

The clip then ends with Carragher's fellow pundit and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry looking confused to the delight of Spurs fans, who hailed the team who came up with the post.

Postecoglou hailed Tottenham for grinding out a big win with a solid defensive performance despite having nine players unavailable for the game.

"Difficult place to come, difficult place to win at, difficult place to keep them out," he said.
