Liverpool are claimed to have turned their focus to Sporting Lisbon centre-back Goncalo Inacio.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo, as translated by Sport Witness, report that new Reds boss Arne Slot has informed the Anfield hierarchy that he wants a new central defender.

Inacio is understood to be Liverpool's top target, with the 22-year-old boasting a €60million (£52m) release clause.

The left-footer made one start for Portugal at Euro 2024, their 2-0 defeat to Georgia.

Southampton's newest signing Yukinari Sugawara has said he was never in any doubt about joining the Premier League club from AZ Alkmaar.

“To come to Southampton and to play in the Premier League is one of my biggest dreams since I was young, so I am really excited to be here," the Japan international told club media.

“Last summer I played against Southampton in the pre-season.

When Southampton gave me an offer, I said yes after one second!”

Alvaro Morata has decided he wants to join AC Milan this summer, according to Sky Sport Italia (via Football Italia).

The move would represent a return to Serie A for the striker, who had two spells as a Juventus player.

Morata scored 21 times for current club Atletico Madrid last season, but reports suggest he could become a Milan player by the end of the week.

Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has shut down links of a move for Viktor Gyokeres, giving Arsenal a better chance of signing him.

Gyokeres, 26, is among Europe's most in-demand strikers after a stellar first season with Sporting Lisbon, and Arsenal reportedly have him on their shortlist.

Napoli had been tipped to sign the Sweden international as a replacement from the potentially departing Victor Osimhen, but Manna has poured cold water on the topic.

Willy Kambwala has left Manchester United and joined Villarreal on a five-year deal.

United will receive an initial fee of £4.6million for the defender, rising to a potential total of £9.6m.

Kambwala joined United in 2020 from French Ligue 2 club Sochaux, and made 10 appearances.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to trigger Girona winger Viktor Tsygankov's release clause.

Tsygankov, 26, helped Girona finish third in La Liga last season and according to Spanish outlet AS, Erik ten Hag has spoke to the Ukrainian about coming to Old Trafford.

His release clause is understood to be worth €30million (£25m).
