Manchester City have made the third defensive addition of the window with Christian McFarlane joining from New York City FC.
"I know this move will be pivotal for my development, and I’m ready to embrace the challenge and make the most of this opportunity," said the 18-year-old left-back, who has represented England and the United States at youth international level.
The teenager had been with NYCFC since the age of 14 and played eight times in Major League Soccer in 2024.
He is Manchester City's third defensive signing of the January window, following Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis.

Aston Villa have agreed personal terms with Chelsea's Axel Disasi, according to Fabrizio Romano, though the clubs are yet to agree a fee.
Unai Emery's side are after defensive reinforcements after letting Diego Carlos join Fenerbahce.
Disasi, who can play at full-back or centre-back, has played just six times in the Premier League this season.
14:38Tom VictorNapoli not giving up on Garnacho
According to Sky in Italy, Napoli are poised to reopen talks over Alejandro Garnacho this week.
The Serie A leaders are still after a new addition out wide after losing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain.
Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi is another name on their shortlist, but Antonio Conte's side remain keen on Garnacho if a move for the Manchester United man can be agreed.
14:18Tom VictorDONE DEAL: Jota back at Celtic
Celtic have confirmed the return of Jota on a five-and-a-half-year deal from Rennes.
The winger spent two years in Glasgow before moving to Al-Ittihad for £25m in 2023, but the Bhoys have paid considerably less to bring him back - though Kyogo has moved in the opposite direction.
“It’s very nostalgic for me because it was such an amazing feeling and all the moments that I felt through my two seasons here, and I’m just delighted to be back," the Portuguese told club media.
"I’m really excited and I just can’t wait to start."

Brazilian club Flamengo want to sign Arsenal midfielder Jorginho in this window.
They have got long term ambitions to sign the Italy international who was born in Brazil but they have made overtures to try and do business in January.
Jorginho, 31, only has six months left on his current deal but there is a 12 month option and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has said numerous times how much he rates him as a player and as a person.
Even though Jorginho’s game time has been limited, Arsenal would be reluctant to let him go before the summer when they will push to complete a deal for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
Jorginho is regarded as having a future as a coach because of his knowledge and insight of the game which has caught Arteta’s eye.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are pushing for a deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko this month.
Arsenal may be willing to offload a left back as last summer they struggled to get big earners out to help balance their spending and transfers.

Alex Valle will leave Celtic if the club is able to complete a Kieran Tierney loan deal, according to Sky Sports.
Left-back Valle joined Brendan Rodgers' side on loan from Barcelona in the summer, but could end up finishing the season at Como.
Tierney, who spent time at Celtic before joining Arsenal in 2019, is expected to return on a free in the summer but could ultimately move even sooner.
13:23Tom VictorDanilo leaves Juve
Former Manchester City defender Danilo has agreed to terminate his Juventus contract, and is expected to join Flamengo.
The Braziian had featured 12 times in Serie A this season, most recently in December when he captained the side against Venezia.
It continues a relatively busy window for Juve, who signed Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and could do more business before deadline day.
13:00Dan MarshICYMI: Man Utd consider Nkunku swoop
Manchester United are ready to try and bring in Christopher Nkunku on loan from Chelsea.
The German forward is out of favour at Stamford Bridge and United's forwards have underwhelmed this season.
The Athletic say they are weighing up the idea of signing Nkunku on loan.
The move is an intriguing one given Chelsea have been linked with United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
12:24Dan MarshArsenal still eyeing Isak
Arsenal's interest in Newcastle forward Alexander Isak is well known, although it seems unlikely the Gunners will be able to bring the Swedish forward in this month.
Eddie Howe has already dismissed talk of Isak leaving, but Sky in Germany claim he is a huge priority for Arsenal in the summer.
The report does add that any move for Isak would be "complicated and very expensive", which may disappoint Arsenal fans.

Talk of Liverpool signing Jorrel Hato from Ajax has intensified following claims that the defender was seen at Anfield during Saturday's win over Ipswich Town.
The centre-half, 18, has plenty of admirers across Europe after breaking into the Ajax team early.
And Hato, given his age and profile, would arguably be the perfect long-term successor.

Bayer Leverkusen are in talks with Manchester City over a deal for James McAtee.
City do not want to lose their academy graduate, who they feel can become a regular starter, but the German champions are pushing to sign him this month.
