Suspicions have been raised that Trent Alexander-Arnold could be set to stay at Liverpool following his passionate goal celebration against Leicester City.

The 26-year-old put the Reds on the verge of clinching the Premier League title after scoring minutes after coming off the bench in the 1-0 win away on Sunday.

With his contract at Anfield due to expire at the end of this season, Alexander-Arnold has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

I think it has to come into it when you score a goal, you run to that crowd and you see that love and adoration.

"As it stands, you're a Liverpool legend and they love you.

If you were to sign a new deal today or tomorrow, you're in the history books of that club forever."

As both a Scouser and a Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold has been criticised by some Reds supporters following reports of his imminent departure for Los Blancos on a free transfer.

I think he is getting all carried away with Real Madrid and [thinking] the grass is greener but I don't think the grass is greener."

If Alexander-Arnold does ultimately leave Liverpool then Conor Bradley looks like the mostly likely candidate to step in at right-back.

Aged just 21, Bradley has impressed for the Reds when called upon this season, making 15 Premier League appearances, along with five in the Champions League.

But Foster has cautioned that Alexander-Arnold's boots will not be easy to fill after suggesting his successor will likely fall short of his high standards to start with.

"The problem they've got is if Trent does go, Connor Bradley will probably be there at right wing-back," he said.
