Liverpool delivered another excellent performance on Wednesday as they registered a 2-0 win over Newcastle.
With Arsenal only managing a draw away at Nottingham Forest, the result felt like another big one for the Reds.
After 28 games played, Liverpool sit 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
There is still a way to go, but that feels insurmountable.
Heading into the game, Arsenal fans would have been hoping that Newcastle could pull something out of the bag for them.
And after the final whistle, they let Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk know it.

Wednesday was not the most taxing performance of either Alisson or Van Dijk’s lives.
The pair have fallen victim to the quality of Isak over the past couple of years but were less threatened by his replacement Callum Wilson.

If Liverpool are to see out the next 10 matches and win the Premier League, though, both will no doubt have been key to it.
The Kop know that all too well.
And as videoed and posted on X by journalist Nazira Yusuf, the famous old stand saluted their defensive stalwarts after the final whistle.

“Huge roar from the Kop as Alisson and Van Dijk went over to appreciate the fans support tonight,” says Yusuf.o
On the video, the pair can be seen applauding fans, who loudly sound their appreciation.
Two legends of the club getting the acclaim they deseve.
Although they’ll have harder games, there is no denying just how important Van Dijk and Alisson are to Liverpool.
Between them, they are a huge part of the reason the Reds have kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season.
Having kept 12 shutouts in 28 matches, they are one ahead of Nottingham Forest and two above Arsenal.
Obviously, Alisson’s injury means that he is currently a little out of the way in the running for the annual Golden Glove award for the individual goalkeeper with the most clean sheets.
The Brazilian won the trophy in 2018/19 and 2021/22 but with eight this time, he is currently behind Jordan Pickford, David Raya and Mats Selz who have nine, 10 and 11 respectively.
