Liverpool gave up their winning run in the Champions League as a young team were beaten 3-2 by PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds left virtually a full squad back home on Merseyside safe in the knowledge that progression to the last-16 had been secured.
Arne Slot will still have been desperate to win the game back on Dutch soil for the first time since becoming Liverpool manager.
But in the end the boss saw sense and rested almost all of the big hitters within the Liverpool squad.
That meant that opportunities arose for a number of youngsters to make their mark on proceedings.
Some of them did that, with Jayden Danns breaking a Liverpool record with his first ever start for the club.
The 18-year-old has been impressive for the Liverpool academy.
Given the rotation in defence, it seemed possible that Slot may give Nallo his debut against PSV.

In the end, that’s exactly what happened.
It may have been in the 83rd minute, but the former West Ham prospect got his Liverpool debut in the Champions League.
Unfortunately, it only lasted four minutes.
Nallo had barely had chance to get warm when he was given his marching orders following a last-man challenge on Johan Bakayoko.

It was a devastating moment for Nallo, and as per statistician Michael Reid, the centre-back also had the dubious honour of snatching the title of youngest ever recipient of a red card from Michael Owen.
“Poor Amara Nallo – the youngest ever Liverpool player to be given a red card (18 years, 72 days), overtaking Michael Owen’s record (18y 117d v Man Utd in April 1998),” Reid writes on X.
Liverpool’s defeat was perhaps to be expected on Wednesday to a team looking for a second consecutive Eredivisie title.
With the Reds still finishing top of the Champions League table, it is an easy one to take.
Nevertheless, the one moment of the night which is not easy to stomach is Nallo’s sending off.
Given the state of the game at the time, there really was no need for referee Tobias Stieler to show Nallo the red card.
Obviously, Stieler should not be taking into account the fact the youngster is four minutes into his Liverpool debut, but given that Jarell Quansah was covering, the red seems really harsh.
On what should have been a tremendous night for Nallo he will leave the Philips Stadion feeling as low as possible.
