Liverpool suffered a surprise loss away to Fulham this weekend as the Reds were blown away in west London.
The Cottagers gave Arne Slot his first defeat in the Premier League since September as three goals in the first-half saw Fulham secure a famous win against Liverpool, with results this weekend meaning the Anfield side’s lead at the top has been cut to 11 points.
With seven games left to go this season, though, Liverpool are still odds-on favourites to win the Premier League title, with the Reds in a good position to confirm themselves as league champions before the end of this month.
Yet Premier League legend Shay Given has now criticised one Liverpool player for their performance against Fulham and for his role in allowing the Cottagers to score three times.

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, the former Republic of Ireland international highlighted Ibrahima Konate’s role in Fulham scoring three goals in a 15-minute period against Liverpool, with the French defender ‘all over the place’ for the Reds.
With Virgil van Dijk facing criticism from Paul Scholes for his performance against Fulham and his reaction after the full-time whistle, Sunday’s loss was a real game to forget for the Reds having spent most of the Premier League season on top of the world.

And for Given, Konate’s role in allowing Fulham to score three goals was a real low point for the Liverpool defender, with the former RB Leipzig star simply not at the races for the Reds on the weekend despite being a consistent performer all season.
Given said: “Liverpool were very poor.
There was 15 minutes of madness in the first half and that’s not like Liverpool at all.
They’re top of the league for a reason because they are brilliant at the back.
But Ibrahima Konate was all over the place in the first half.”
Two losses all season and sitting 11 points clear of second-place Arsenal are factors that clearly point towards Liverpool steamrolling their way to the Premier League title, even after Sunday’s defeat away to Fulham.
Yet heading into the final seven games of the season, Liverpool know they simply can’t afford to slip up again this campaign if they’re to wrap up the Premier League with some matches to spare, with the title race all-but over at this stage.
Indeed, Sunday’s loss away to Fulham was the worst performance of the season for Liverpool, and the Reds will want to ensure that they do not repeat their display in upcoming games against the likes of West Ham and Leicester City.
