Liverpool fans will be sick to the stomach on Thursday morning after seeing their team throw away two points in the final seconds of Wednesday’s Merseyside Derby.
The Reds had looked set for an impressive comeback win at a hostile Goodison Park, but conceded in the last throes of the game.
It was a terrific hit from James Tarkowski and in reality was no less than Everton deserved on the night.
But that will be of little comfort to Liverpool supporters.
The fact the Reds now sit seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table should help to soften the blow a little, but there’s no escaping that this was two points dropped.
Everton fans by contrast will be gleeful despite their inability to beat Liverpool.
The crowd were on the Goodison pitch after Tarkowski’s goal hit the net and that feeling of euphoria will not die down anytime soon.
For the Red half of Merseyside, Jamie Carragher often does a good job in summing up the overall mood.
And after Carragher’s reaction to Tarkowksi’s late goal was caught on camera, Liverpool fans will definitely relate.

Had Liverpool seen out the game at Goodison, it would have felt like an enormous three points.
Having not played at all well in the home of their neighbours, coming away with a win could have virtually settled the Premier League title race.

Instead, Liverpool now go into a run of four matches in two weeks under a little pressure to maintain their grip at the top of the table.
Carragher knows all of that, of course.
And despite the Liverpool legend covering Wednesday night’s Champions League games for CBS Sports Golazo, he still had one eye on Goodison.

Watching on alongside Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, Carragher couldn’t hide his frustration as Tarkowski’s volley hit the net.
“That was a blow,” admitted the 47-year-old, as Henry and Richards rejoiced in the drama.
There were still some moments to shout about for Liverpool supporters during Wednesday’s game.
Alexis Mac Allister’s goal was brilliant, while another shining moment from Mohamed Salah was also worth reflecting on.
And having seen Salah put Liverpool in front late on, Carragher was urging his old club to ‘give him what he wants.’
“Yes!” exclaimed the Scouser after watching the Egyptian fire home at the far post.
Come on!”
We’ll no doubt hear some more reaction from Carragher in the days to follow, but for the time being, he’s just as gutted as the rest of us.
