Endo was praised after the game and without the 32-year-old, it’s very possible that Liverpool would not have won.

Nevertheless, there were further suggestions in the lead up to the game that Endo could be sold this summer.

Although Arne Slot has changed his tune on Endo, he clearly prefers a different profile in his midfield.

The Japanese has not started a Premier League game all season after all.

One such answer for Slot could be Stefan Bajcetic.

And as Liverpool were breathing a sigh of relief having beaten Wolves, Bajcetic was firing in his first goal in La Liga.

After being substituted last weekend, there were worries that Bajcetic could be injured again after just his second appearance for Las Palmas.

However, the 20-year-old was back on the teamsheet for Diego Martinez as they faced Mallorca in La Liga.

Unfortunately, things did not go to plan for the Canaries, with Mallorca racing into a three-goal lead inside 35 minutes.

With the game done and dusted, there was still time for a big personal moment for Bajcetic in the second-half, though.

With 62 minutes on the clock, the ball deflected into the Liverpool man’s path just inside the area.

Doing brilliantly to get his foot over the bouncing ball, Bajcetic arrowed an excellent first-time finish low into the bottom corner.

It is perhaps more pertinent that his side conceded three early goals.

But despite that, after such an up and down season, it is great to see Bajcetic on the scoresheet.

The Spaniard’s last goal was, before Sunday, the only time he’s found the net in his career so far.

That came at Villa Park on Boxing Day in 2022.

With Liverpool heading to that same stadium on Wednesday, maybe they’ll see that as a lucky omen.

In the meantime, it’s impressive that Bajcetic has already found his feet in the starting XI at Las Palmas.

Martinez’s team are struggling badly at the wrong end of the table, but it’s all good experience for Stefan.
