Liverpool players are slowly returning from their international excursions this week.
The Reds had 15 players away on duty for their countries, with two more turning out for U21 sides.
One of those underage stars was Stefan Bajcetic, who is currently on-loan at RB Salzburg from Liverpool.
Plenty of supporters had wanted to see Bajcetic in the senior Liverpool squad this season, but Arne Slot chose to send the Spaniard out to Salzburg instead.
In the time since, Slot has been proven right on Bajcetic, with the 20-year-old getting more minutes than he would have done by staying with the Reds.
However, Bajcetic is so highly thought of at Liverpool and while away with Spain U21s this week he has been showing exactly why.

Had Bajcetic not been coming off the back of virtually 18 months without playing, he likely would have been an ideal player for Slot’s midfield.
Tenacious, wiry and excellent on the ball, the former Celta Vigo prospect has all the tools needed to be a success in the middle of the park for Liverpool.

Before he does that, though, he has to get fully back up to speed playing regular football.
And after 11 appearances already for Salzburg, Bajcetic got two more under his belt for Spain’s U21s, playing against England and Denmark over the past few days.

Ahead of Tuesday’s game with the Danes, the official X account of the Spanish youth team shared a video of Bajcetic practicing free-kicks with his teammates.
Having seen Javi Guerra, Pablo Torre and Gabri Veiga all put impressive efforts over the training wall and into the net, Bajcetic stepped up.
As casual as you like, the Liverpool man floated a nonchalant side-footed effort over the mannequins and beyond the goalkeeper.
Lovely.
There had been rumours recently that Serbia were trying to poach Bajcetic to represent them over Spain.
However, having been part of the U21 camp in November, it now seems unlikely that they’ll get their way.
Should he continue regularly playing for Salzburg, Bajcetic will surely keep being part of the Spanish set-up and if he then breaks through at Liverpool again a senior call-up may not be far away.
All of this is good news for Bajcetic and indeed for Liverpool.
Any minutes are welcome at this point and the youngster does not seem to be having an adverse reaction to playing.
As his confidence continues to grow and the player who impressed so thoroughly in 2022/23 re-emerges, the predictions that Bajcetic will be future star at Liverpool seem to be getting back on track.
