Virgil van Dijk claims he hasn’t spoken to Trent Alexander-Arnold about his contract situation because it wouldn’t be fair.
The Liverpool captain penned a new two-year deal last week following on from Mo Salah committing his future to the club.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, 26, still looks set to join Real Madrid this summer unless there is a huge U-turn on his decision with no deal agreed with Liverpool ahead of his contract running out in June.
And he showed today that he was so now it's on to the next.
“Whatever may happen in the future for him, that's something that he has to resolve with himself and the family.
But he's a Liverpool player at this point and he's important for our team.

“He's back in and amongst us, he's important today and we have still five more games after this so hopefully he can be important for the rest of the games.
But for us as players, we want to win games and he's been important throughout the whole season.
“He's been important for all those years that we have been together and there's still games to go and then we to need to have the best Trent Alexander-Arnold and what I said, what happen in the future, what happen that's life and football and we'll see.”
