Virgil van Dijk has provided a sketchy update on his Liverpool future.
The Liverpool captain’s future is one of the major issues on the front burner for the club’s chiefs as well as the fans, who are desperate to see him remain at Anfield beyond this summer.
As it stands, Van Dijk will leave Liverpool at the end of this season.
Van Dijk has publicly spoken about his future severally, recently hinting at a good contract news before end of season.
“Before the end of the season, there’s going to be news, “the Dutchman said.
“As long as I’m full committed and have my full focus on the task ahead, and I love the club, that’s the main thing.
That’s who I am”.
He has once again declared his love for the club, reiterating that there will be news in the upcoming weeks.
In a live Q&A on Thursday a days after the Merseyside Derby, the Dutchman was asked whether he had any good news to share on his future.
“I can’t say more than there will be news in the upcoming weeks,” Van Dijk replied in a video shared by X user @LFC_Mikee on X.
“Whether that’s positive or not, I have no idea at this point.
“What I do know, and I’ve mentioned it many times before, is I’m calm and what will happen, will happen.
“Like I said also many times before, I love the club and the club loves me?
I love playing for Liverpool, I love leading out the boys each and every game.
“And at this stage I’m not really panicking whatsoever, so let’s see.”
