Virgil van Dijk has confirmed his commitment to Liverpool, and revealed his future at the club could be resolved within the next two months.
The Dutchman entered the season of one of three key Liverpool players who had entered the final year of their contracts.
Despite the uncertainty, Liverpool have progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League, final of the Carabao Cup and currently lead the Premier League, in Arne Slot's first season in charge.
“It’s all about the next couple of months," Van Dijk told ex-Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp in an interview for Sky Sports.
Virgil van Dijk has just a few months remaining on his Liverpool contract.
I’m quite calm about it.
“It’s quite funny because I remember when Gini - obviously a friend of mine - Wijnaldum was out of contract and in his last six months at the club, I said to him I couldn’t believe how calm he was.
“But now being in the situation myself, I’m in a very good place.
But I think in the next couple of months there will definitely be some information about that.”
