A look at some of the moments missed from Liverpool's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday lunchtime

Liverpool briefly extended their advantage at the top of the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime with a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace.

The Reds return to action on October 20 at Anfield, when they entertain Chelsea.

Van Dijk scolds Tsimikas

There can't be many players whose wrath you would want to incur less thanVirgil van Dijk.

Briggs, who joined from Wolfsburg, officially has the job title of 'first-team individual development coach' but he has also assumed control of what the Reds do at corners and free-kicks.

His work was credited with the recent 3-1 win at AC Milan, when Ibrahima Konate and Van Dijk scored from set pieces to cancel out Christian Pulisic's opener prior to Dominik Szoboszlai's third and Briggs could be seen dishing out for information at Selhurst Park also.

A Palace corner in the first half led to Alexis Mac Allister and Tsimikas immediately turning to the bench to catch Briggs's eye for instructions on how to defend the delivery from the Eagles.

Briggs could be seen relaying the pertinent points and Liverpool defended the set-piece properly.

The change involved moving Curtis Jones to a deeper position after he had played the first 45 minutes in a more advanced role at the tip of the midfield triangle.

The only problem for Slot, as he attempted to give Jones some final instructions before the second period got underway, was that he was actually standing on the pitch and holding up the restart as a result.

So fixed on dishing out the advice to his midfielder was Slot that he was totally unaware he was encroaching well out of his technical area and onto the field of play itself.

He was eventually told by referee Simon Hooper, forcing the head coach to beat a hasty retreat into his designated area.

Jaros becomes the content creator

It was a day to remember for Liverpool's latest Premier League debutant Vitezslav Jaros, who was introduced in the second period for a hamstrung Alisson Becker.

After the game, Jaros could be seen with a phone in his hand seemingly delivering a selfie of sorts on the pitch itself, beaming smile in tow.
