Virgil van Dijk has repeatedly called on Liverpool to focus on themselves this season as the Reds battle with Arsenal for top spot in the Premier League.

That is partly down to his recovery and routines, the Dutchman explained, and Van Dijk revealed he even went in the swimming pool at midnight after this week’s game against Aston Villa to ensure he remained in peak physical condition.

“Fitness-wise I am in a very good shape,” he said
