“But I can only say that I am fully committed to the club.

I love the fans… let’s see what the future brings.

As long as I’m calm, I think the rest of the world can stay calm.”

Van Dijk made it clear that his focus is on the present.

With Liverpool competing in three competitions, he is determined to lead the team to success.

“It’s all about the next couple of months to make sure we give everything,” he continued.

“We want to be successful in all three of them [competitions].

I’ve got very big plans in that sense, I want to make sure this team is successful.”

“When there is a definite answer on my future, it will probably be out [smiles]… I’ve always said I’m quite calm about it.”
