Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has insisted that there is still work to be done in the Premier League title race — and asked Reds fans to ensure the final home matches of the season in particular are as loud as possible.
"Good performance; a complete performance," the Dutch center-back told reporters after the win over Manchester City.
Asked about the Liverpool fans in the away end singing about winning the league, Van Dijk insisted that he and his teammates would remain grounded?
"The [Arsenal] result yesterday gave [the fans] belief but it is down to us to just keep focusing on the game ahead of us.
"Newcastle will be a big test and we need our fans to be in great shape then as well.
Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool.
