'We can change': Salah explains what he and Van Dijk privately spoke about after draw against Aston Villa

Mohamed Salah is firing Liverpool to the Premier League title.

The Egyptian superstar has been in the form of his life this season across the 37 games he has played for the Reds, producing 29 goals and 20 assists.

Liverpool fans would not have expected Salah to be matching Lionel Messi’s stats when the winger arrived from Roma back in 2017 but the Reds forward has continued to develop at Anfield over the years.

Salah has become more considerate of his teammates and the Egypt international has revealed how he has changed, while also sharing a conversation between himself and Virgil van Dijk after the Aston Villa game.

In the early days of his Liverpool career and even recently, many pundits and fans criticised Salah for being too selfish, a trait that created conflict at times between the winger and Sadio Mane.

The Egyptian superstar has discarded this characteristic in recent seasons and Salah has explained how in a new interview with Liverpool.com ahead of the Reds’ trip to Man City.

“It’s fun, it’s different but I see it in a different way now.

In the past, when I came here in the first year, I probably was thinking just about the field and playing, and not about the players.”

Salah also shared a conversation between himself and Van Dijk after Liverpool’s draw with Aston Villa on Wednesday, in which they both agreed that the Reds have to improve.

Salah has a very good record against Man City as the Egyptian has netted 12 goals and assisted a further seven across 22 games against the Premier League champions over the years.

If Arne Slot’s men are to beat Pep Guardiola’s team, Salah will very likely be key to that, however, the 32-year-old considers the Manchester club as the favourites heading into the contest.

“It’s going to be tough.

They are always going to be a strong side and they always can win a game at any time.”

This may just be Salah taking the pressure off his team but there is truth in his words.
