Liverpool will now take a 1-0 lead back to Anfield next Tuesday.
The tie is far from over, though, and immediately after the game, PSG midfielder Vitinha stepped out with some fighting talk.

PSG would have been worthy winners of Wednesday’s game.
Had it not been for Alisson, they could have taken a handsome lead to Merseyside next week.
But the Brazilian goalkeeper put in arguably his best ever performance for Liverpool to keep the Parisians at bay.

Alisson aside, Liverpool were not great, though.
If they turn up with the same quality next week, there is every chance PSG can turn the tie around.
And according to Vitinha, Luis Enrique’s side will head to Anfield with full belief that they can do exactly that.

“It’s hard to play a match like that, against a team like that,” the Portuguese said via L’Equipe.
“Only one goal opportunity, only one shot.”
“Now is the time to show what a team we are,” Vitinha continued.
“We’re going to show what a team we are, we’re going to show our character.
We had plenty of chances like at the start of the season but we didn’t manage to score.”
It’s easy to believe that PSG players would not be overawed by the Liverpool team they faced on Wednesday.
Although they were beaten by the Reds, they played them off the park for much of the game.
Nevertheless, if Vitinha and his teammates expect the same Liverpool to turn up on home soil next week, then they may be in for a surprise.
Liverpool are a different beast at Anfield and as the crowd smell a big opportunity in this year’s Champions League, they’ll be going all in to make it as uncomfortable as possible for Vitinha and co.
