Liverpool are not in Premier League action next weekend due to their participation in the Carabao Cup final, with their following top-flight match coming against Everton on April 2.

The game against the Saints will also see Slot serve the second match of the suspension that he was handed by the FA.

The Dutchman was handed a two-game touchline ban after accepting a charge following his red card after the full-time whistle in the 2-2 draw with Everton last month.

Liverpool assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff will also serve the second match of a two-game touchline ban on Saturday afternoon.

Slot and Hulshoff both served the first match of their suspension in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Newcastle United last week.

The ban does not apply to Champions League fixtures, meaning Slot was able to be on the touchline for the win over Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

However, the ban handed to the Liverpool head coach is in force for the clash against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

As a result, several rules are in place for what Slot can and can't do on the day.

For starters, Slot will not be permitted to be on the touchline during the game.

However, during the game he will not be able to directly give instructions to his players.

Instead, Slot will be forced to use a phone, walkie-talkie or a 'runner' to send a message to his backroom staff to give instructions to the players on the pitch.

Slot will also not be able to speak to the referee or match officials at any stage of the game or be on the Anfield touchline before, during or after the match.
