Both Nunez and Mac Allister started for their nations during Uruguay’s contest with Argentina only for the pair to be subbed later on in the game.
The striker was given 72 minutes of action, while the Liverpool midfielder was taken off by Lionel Scaloni eight minutes later.
Just before the halftime break, a scuffle broke out between Uruguay and Argentina players with Mac Allister at the heart of it.
However, the two are unlikely to be teammates for much longer, as Nunez is expected to leave Liverpool at the end of the season as his poor form continued whilst on international duty.
There was hope that Nunez could gain some confidence with Uruguay but that did not play out on Friday night against Argentina as the Reds forward put in a poor display, hence why he was taken off.
