Trent Alexander-Arnold's future on Merseyside remains in doubt, with no contract extension signed and Real Madrid interested.

With that in mind, links to centre-backs are no surprise.

And given his rapid rise this season in the Premier League, Dean Huijsen will undoubtedly be a name that continues to come up.

According to Sky Sports, the 20-year-old has a release clause in the region of £50m in his current AFC Bournemouth deal.

Liverpool are said to be one of five Premier League clubs interested in him - Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham are the others - along with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

It's suggested Real Madrid would "be a priority" for the player if they were to make an official move.

Speaking to El Chiringuito recently, Huijsen conceded there was an exit clause in his deal.
