The left-back has won everything there is to win at club level with Liverpool and has represented Scotland at international tournaments, which many before him have not had the privilege of doing.

However, Robertson is unlikely to leave Liverpool and will enhance his legendary career at Anfield over the coming weeks by adding another Premier League medal to his collection.

Scotland will play Greece twice over the March international break as Steve Clark’s team look to remain in League A of the UEFA Nations League.

Should he play, the two games will see Robertson’s appearances for Scotland boosted to 82, moving the left-back into third position on the list of the nation’s all-time leading appearance-makers.

The only two names left ahead of the Liverpool star are Jim Leighton (91) and Reds legend Kenny Daglish, who featured for his country and impressive 102 times.

Robertson turned 31 last week and having such an important role in the Scotland team, the left-back has a strong chance of breaking the record.

The defender is aware of this and therefore, the Liverpool defender has started to wind Dalglish up about it when he sees the legendary figure around Anfield.

Speaking about the record ahead of Scotland’s first match with Greece on Thursday, Robertson shared a funny interaction he had with Daglish recently.

“No, I’m not denying it,” Robertson said when asked by the BBC about looking ahead at becoming Scotland’s all-time leading appearance maker.
