Trent Alexander-Arnold made his comeback from injury for Liverpool against Leicester City, with the defender marking the occasion in style.

As noted by BBC Sport pundit Clinton Morrison, Liverpool fans were heard chanting: ‘The Scouser in our team’ shortly after Alexander-Arnold’s introduction from the bench, with supporters pleased to see the defender back in the action.

With the fanbase split on Alexander-Arnold after news broke last month that a move to Madrid was close to being completed, the fullback himself will be pleased by the reception he received at the King Power Stadium from the away end.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold’s move to Madrid is set to go ahead despite suggestions from Liverpool fans that the defender could stay after Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s contract updates earlier in the month.
