With 89 minutes on the clock, Alexander-Arnold would have clearly been tired but that did not stop the Liverpool star from getting a rollicking from Slot for jogging and not sprinting back into position, reports the Daily Mail.
Many Liverpool fans will question Alexander-Arnold’s effort due to his contract situation but that doesn’t seem to be the case in this scenario.
It has been well-documented that Alexander-Arnold is out of contract with Liverpool at the end of the season and there has been no sign of a new deal being agreed in recent weeks.
Real Madrid are showing strong interest in Alexander-Arnold and many fans of the Reds expect the full-back to leave for Spain ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
That may well be the defender’s plan, however, Alexander-Arnold showed against Aston Villa how committed he is to Liverpool’s cause and the 26-year-old will continue to do so for the remainder of the season.
