Trent Alexander-Arnold refused to address his future following Liverpool's victory at Leicester on Sunday as he came off the bench to score the winner in a 1-0 victory.
The Reds right-back had been out of action since sustaining an injury during the Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield on March 11 but made sure he returned with a bang by putting his side just one win away from securing the Premier League title with a 76th minute strike at the King Power Stadium.
The 26-year-old had replaced Conor Bradley just five minutes prior to make his 350th club appearance for Liverpool and found himself in the right place at the right time to lash home a left-footed effort to put Arne Slot's men in front.
After making his way over the Liverpool fans inside the stadium, the England international let out a defiant roar as he was mobbed by his teammates, showing true passion and emotion despite the strong recent claims that he is set to depart for Real Madrid at the end of the season.
When quizzed on his future after the full-time whistle, however, Alexander-Arnold remained level-headed with his answer, making sure not to give anything away and doing his best to divert the attention away from his ongoing contract saga as he enters what appears to be his final run of games in a Liverpool shirt.
“Look, obviously like I said all season, I’m not going to speak on my situation, I’m not going to go into details.
Alexander-Arnold whipped off his shirt just moments after his goal against Leicester and ran straight towards the away fans
Unfortunately for Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold, his goal was not enough to secure the Premier League title on Sunday following Arsenal's resounding 4-0 victory at Ipswich earlier in the day
That is, of course, unless Crystal Palace defeats Arsenal on Wednesday.
As for Alexander-Arnold, his future remains up in the air, despite the strong links to Real Madrid
Following Mohamed Salah's and Virgil van Dijk's recent contract extensions, he remains the only one yet to put pen-to-paper on a fresh deal, but was giving nothing away despite his jubilant celebrations following today's winner against Leicester.
