Liverpool secured one of their most dramatic Premier League wins of the season away to Leicester City.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was the hero for the Reds as the right-back came off the bench to score the winning goal for Arne Slot’s side, with Liverpool now just one win away from winning the Premier League title.

With Alexander-Arnold praised by Liverpool fans from the away end at the King Power Stadium, the day belonged to the England international in the East Midlands, with the right-back rubberstamping his return to action in perfect fashion for the Premier League leaders.

And Kostas Tsimikas was in awe with Alexander-Arnold’s performance for Liverpool, given all the noise surrounding the defender.

Speaking to the Premier League’s official website after full-time, the Greek international waxed lyrical about Alexander-Arnold’s character and performance against Leicester, with Tsimikas impressed with what he’s seen from his Liverpool teammate in recent weeks off the pitch.

Tsimikas said: “What a player.

This gives us an extra boost for the next game, we want to celebrate with all the fans at Anfield [if winning trophy there].”

With Alexander-Arnold expected to join Real Madrid this summer, the defender scoring one of Liverpool’s most important goals of the season is poetic given everything the 26-year-old has given to his boyhood club.

And Tsimikas’ comments paint a picture of a player who is greatly respected behind the scenes, with Alexander-Arnold on a mission to end his final season with Liverpool in the best possible fashion.

Alexander-Arnold’s return to action was a welcome sight for Liverpool fans even before the defender rifled in the winning goal for the visiting side, with Slot now having two options at right-back to call upon for Tottenham next weekend.

Yet with a chance to win the Premier League title on the cards, Alexander-Arnold will be itching to start ahead of Conor Bradley for the contest at Anfield, where the defender can confirm himself as English champion for a second time with Liverpool.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold has been influential for Liverpool under Slot this season, and the defender deserves the chance to play his role in leading the Reds to a second title in five years on Merseyside.
