Liverpool fans know that emotions run high at this point of the season.

With the Premier League title within reach, every move is magnified.

Every post, every quote, every decision gets extra attention.

Players are under pressure, managers are under pressure, and even fans feel it.

So if a key player does something unexpected on social media, it naturally grabs attention.

Darwin Nunez has not had the easiest season.

Despite making 42 appearances, he has only started 17 times.

His tally stands at just seven goals in all competitions, with five of them coming in the Premier League.

Recently, there have been plenty of rumours about his future.

Some even suggested financial reasons were behind his limited playtime, but the club and manager Arne Slot have firmly denied it.

The tension around Nunez has been obvious.

Fans noticed when he reportedly changed his profile picture on X and briefly lost his verification tick.

And when he reportedly posted — and then quickly deleted — a message, the talk only grew louder.

What did Darwin Nunez post and delete?

The deleted post from Darwin Nunez seemed to reveal his frustration.

The post which was reportedly deleted and said, “No wonder I didn’t play more, because the last game I started in the Premier League went well and suddenly..”

This came after Nunez had scored in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Southampton in his last Premier League start.

Yet, since then, he has mostly been limited to appearances from the bench.

He also missed a crucial penalty in Liverpool’s Champions League shootout loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

Adding to the story, after reportedly changing his profile photo and losing his verification tick, Nunez posted a selfie with teammate Alexis Mac Allister from the AXA Training Centre.

The caption was simple, “Good morning”

Meanwhile, talk from Portugal claimed Liverpool were avoiding starting Nunez because another start would trigger a £4m payment to Benfica.

But manager Arne Slot dismissed this strongly in his press conference.

Slot said, “Do you always believe what journalists say?

Me neither.”

Finally, on the claims that financial reasons were behind team selection, Slot made it clear, “The last, last, last thing he would do, as I expect working with him for 10 months, is tell me ‘if you play him it would cost us this much’.”

“That, he would never do.
