Liverpool moved to within one victory of the Premier League title with a hard-earned but deserved victory at Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Substitute Trent Alexander-Arnold scored on his return from injury as the Reds secured a 1-0 win that relegated the Foxes.

Arne Slot's side are once again 13 points clear at the top of the table and require only another three points from their remaining five games to claim a record-equalling 20th championship.

But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at the King Power Stadium...

Trent serenaded

The stage had been set for Alexander-Arnold to deliver his big moment.

And Liverpool fans made clear what they made of it all long after the final whistle.

As both the right-back and Alexis Mac Allister were interviewed by television broadcasters, the travelling Kop serenaded both players with their respective songs, with the latter given another rendition when responding with a cheery wave before heading down the tunnel.

And when matters had later quietened down, Alexander-Arnold could be spotted going through his warm-down routine with only Liverpool's head of physical performance Conall Murtagh for company.

Classy Coady

This wasn't a particularly happy day for Leicester, whose drop back to the Championship was confirmed by their failure to win.

Before kick-off, a plane flying overhead bearing the banner "King Power Clueless Sack The Board" highlighted the fan unrest during recent times.

But the disappointment at being relegated didn't stop former Liverpool defender Conor Coady from making a gracious gesture towards his old club.

After the game, Coady made a point of congratulating every Liverpool player outside the dressing room on their victory - and, presumably, the imminent title triumph.

Harvey the cream

There's a strong argument to suggest nobody in the current squad embraces the full remit of being a Liverpool player as enthusiastically as Harvey Elliott.

And there was further evidence of that at the weekend.

As the Reds embarked on their usual pre-match pitch inspection on arriving at the King Power Stadium, the midfielder made a point of spending a good few minutes posing for photographs with supporters.

And during the post-match celebrations, Elliott was the last to leave the away end but not before having handed over his match jersey to a young Liverpool supporter.

A narrow victory meant there were moments of concern for Liverpool.

Not least in the second half when a Leicester goal was chalked off for a borderline foul on Alisson Becker.

That prompted one home fan sat in front of the press box to turn to ex-Reds skipper and assistant manager Phil Thompson and declare: "Bet you were worried for a minute then, Phil!"

Meanwhile, after the game Slot became engrossed in a lengthy pitchside chat with Holland legend Ronald De Boer before embarking on his required media duties.
