Liverpool are a hard club to decipher in the transfer market and usually tend to keep their cards close to their chest.
Not too many journalists were aware of the Federico Chiesa transfer before the deal was at an advanced stage, although the Giorgi Mamardashvili pursuit was widely covered by the media due to drawn-out negotiations with Valencia.
However, in recent months, the Reds have been linked with a host of players, including an attacking duo from Sporting CP.
And judging from their performance against Manchester City, Liverpool might be about to strike gold if they manage to bring them to Anfield.

Viktor Gyokeres has been one of the most talked about players in the transfer windows gone by due to his exploits in front of goal for Sporting CP.
The Swedish striker has emerged as one of the most feared strikers in Europe, attracting interest from a host of top clubs.
Liverpool are ‘specifically interested’ in signing Gyokeres, who can leave the Liga NOS club for a fee believed to be in the region of £58m.
As for Geovany Quenda, he is more of a rough diamond than someone who is already a finished product like Gyokeres, but that hasn’t stopped clubs from keeping a watchful eye on him.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool view Quenda as a ‘superstar in the making’ and are keen on signing him, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus also credited with an interest.
Sporting’s production line has been fantastic over the years and it looks like they are sitting on a gold mine with both Gyokeres and Quenda as the pair continue to attract interest from Europe’s elite.
In what was Ruben Amorim’s last home game in charge of Sporting before his departure to Manchester United, the Portuguese giants secured a statement 4-1 win against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.
Gyokeres took centre stage with a stunning hat-trick, with two of his goals coming from the penalty spot.
Quenda, on the other hand, started as a right-wing back and provided the assist for the Swede’s first goal, making a massive impression against one of the best teams in the world.
Liverpool have already been given a glimpse of what the duo can offer but have to stump up the cash if they are to see off competition to bring them to Anfield.
