Liverpool hosted PSG in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second-leg, with Luis Diaz named in the starting XI for the Reds.
The Colombian international has been in top form for the Anfield side this season, even with Mohamed Salah stealing all the headlines for Liverpool with the 32-year-old attacker breaking a new club or Premier League record seemingly every week.
Despite the winger’s form, Diaz endured a frustrating game as the South American attacker was brought off for Cody Gakpo in extra-time, with the former FC Porto star failing to leave his mark on the game against PSG.
And Stephen Warnock was left utterly confused by one moment from Diaz in the opening half at Anfield for Liverpool.

Speaking on BBC Sport’s coverage of the match, the pundit was critical of Diaz wasting a golden chance to score for Liverpool, with Warnock saying: “Wow.
What an opportunity.
What is Luis Diaz doing?
Opportunity wasted.”
With Liverpool fans recently lauding Diaz as the best left-winger in the Premier League, the attacker’s miss against PSG was very out of character for the Colombian international, who this season has been exceptional for the Reds.
Indeed, the former Porto star is on course to enjoy his best year yet with Liverpool, a worrying factor considering that Diaz is now a target for FC Barcelona heading into the summer transfer window at the end of this season.

However, the forward will be frustrated with his performance tonight against PSG, with Diaz far from his best in a must-win game for Liverpool having enjoyed a productive few weeks in the attack for Arne Slot’s side.
With Salah yet to sign a new Liverpool contract and Darwin Nunez rumoured with an exit from Anfield, Slot’s attacking ranks look set to undergo a big change in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Yet even with Barcelona eyeing Diaz, Liverpool would be crazy to even consider selling the Colombian international given how good the forward has been this season and how well he’s adapted to the new attacking system,
Should Salah and Nunez leave, as well, the departures would open the door for Diaz to take on a more talismanic role for Liverpool, and opportunity the forward will not want to pass up on if given the chance.
