Ibrahima Konate believes Liverpool have "steamrolled" the Premier League on their way to the title as he revealed the reaction of the Reds squad to witnessing the incredible scenes on their way into Anfield.

Liverpool claimed a record-equalling 20th championship with four games to spare by destroying Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds team bus was greeted by a rapturous reception as it made its way into the stadium before the match.



Thousands of supporters lined the streets around Anfield with a display of flags, scarves and pyrotechnics.

And Konate has explained how the Liverpool squad were taken aback by the sheer level of backing and emotion from the Reds faithful.

“It’s unbelievable, honestly," said the centre-back.

What we felt was unprecedented.

"The players in the team bus were not even in their usual spots.

We were all on our toes, watching the fans.

"I have no words to describe it.”

Liverpool stand 15 points clear of second-placed Arsenal having lost only two of 34 Premier League games this season.

Arne Slot has become the first Dutch manager to win the English championship and the third person, after Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish, to win the title in their first season as Reds boss.

And assessing the extent of Liverpool's dominance this season, Konate, speaking to French news outlet Canal+, added: “Honestly, it’s exceptional.

Konate was spotted sat alone in the Main Stand long after the stadium had emptied reflecting on his achievement after being a runner-up in the Premier League, Champions League and World Cup in 2022.

Liverpool return to action this weekend when they travel to Chelsea on Sunday.

They then host Arsenal and Crystal Palace either side of a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.
