Friday was a great day for everyone associated with Liverpool Football Club.
After months of speculation and uncertainty, Mohamed Salah committed his future to Liverpool by penning a two-year deal which keeps him at the Merseyside club until 2027.
Given his importance, the Liverpool dressing room would have been delighted that their talisman will remain at Anfield and Andy Robertson has shared how the Reds locker room reacted to the news of the 32-year-old’s new contract.

Chelsea’s Pedro Neto rates Salah as the best in the Premier League and that is a thought many in English football share, especially in the Liverpool dressing room.
Robertson is another man at the Merseyside club who has a big influence within the current Liverpool squad and the Scottish defender has shared how the Reds’ dressing room reacted to the Salah news.
“A massive player, a massive personality within our changing room, has been crucial to what we’ve done this season and many seasons before that.
“The fact he’s signing a new deal is pleasing for everyone in the club.
But as a player and as somebody that belongs to the club as well, I’m delighted that he’s here to stay.”
The dressing room at the Merseyside club will also be hoping that their captain Virgil van Dijk remains at Liverpool ahead of next season and beyond, with an announcement on the Dutch star’s future expected very soon.
Liverpool are set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid this summer, but that is not expected to happen with Van Dijk.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday that the Merseyside club have agreed new terms with their captain and that the Dutch defender will remain at Anfield until 2027, similar to Salah.
The transfer expert also states that the new contract will be officially signed before the end of the season and Liverpool are likely to announce it before the 2024/25 campaign concludes.
