The Telegraph has revealed whether Jurgen Klopp plans to return to football management amid recent links to the Brazil national team and Real Madrid jobs.
Sometime in April, surprising reports from Brazil have emerged claiming that Klopp is not enjoying his new role at the Red Bull Group.
Since assuming his role as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer on January 1, 2025, the German has embarked on a strategic mission to reshape the energy drink giant’s football operations.
Based in Wiesbaden and Mallorca, the former Liverpool manager has focused on mentoring coaches, refining scouting networks, and integrating cross-sport performance insights across Red Bull’s global portfolio of clubs.
Klopp began with a worldwide tour, visiting RB Bragantino in Brazil to analyse youth development frameworks, then New York Red Bulls to assess MLS operations.
But despite being nearly five months into his job at Red Bull, reports from Spain and Brazil alleged that he was considering leaving his role there, with the Brazil national team and Real Madrid mooted as possible destinations.
However, those claims were rubbished by his agent, who maintained that the former Liverpool manager “has no intention of taking on a head coach role next season.”
With his agent’s words hopefully putting an end to the Real Madrid and Brazil rumours, The Telegraph has provided more clarity on the matter, revealing the likeliest date Klopp will return to management.
Per the report, Klopp has pledged himself to the Red Bull job and is likely to stay there for a long time.
“Jürgen Klopp is unlikely to return to management before the summer of next year – if at all,” the report said.
“Klopp’s plan currently goes no further than Red Bull, and having given himself a change of lifestyle, there have been no indications that he is ready to go back to full-time management now, and there are no guarantees he ever will?
He is understood to have enjoyed becoming a grandfather for the first time.”
The report also hinted that the former Liverpool man could become a national team coach, especially after the 2026 World Cup, considering that he is likely going to be in demand.
Klopp has always liked the idea of international management, with Germany the most likely option after the United States men’s team or even England.
