Liverpool's Premier League title win means they will return to Wembley in August for the Community Shield.

Arne Slot's side were crowned as champions following a thumping 5-1 success over Tottenham on Sunday.

The Reds knew they needed just a point against Tottenham to secure the title and it proved to be a comfortable afternoon in the end at Anfield, even if Spurs threatened to spoil the party.

It didn't take the Reds long to respond and they equalised within four minutes as Luis Diaz poked home from close range following Dominik Szoboszlai's cross.

That sparked the Liverpool fans into life and the Reds completed the turnaround in the 24th minute.

They scored a third in the 34th minute as Cody Gakpo slotted home from inside the area, before Mohamed Salah netted Liverpool's fourth after half-time.

There was still more time for Liverpool to make it 5-1 as Destiny Udogie scored an own-goal after Trent Alexander-Arnold put the ball across the face of goal.

The Reds could and should have scored more, but it didn't matter to the end result as Slot's men were confirmed as Premier League winners for the second time in five years.

And now that Liverpool have won the title, they will travel down to Wembley for the Community Shield before the start of the 2025/26 season.

The Reds will face the FA Cup winners - which will either be Crystal Palace or Manchester City - in the season's opening showpiece on Saturday, August 9.

Kick-off time for the Community Shield is yet to be confirmed, but the Reds will travel to Wembley a week before the first weekend of the Premier League season.

Before they even start thinking about next season, the Reds still have four more Premier League matches to play.
