Manchester City must overcome a first leg deficit away to Real Madrid on Wednesday night if they are to join three other Premier League sides in the Champions League round of 16.

Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool all secured their spot thanks to top eight finishes in the new league phase - meaning they can watch this week’s play-offs to learn who they will take on over a two-legged tie next month.

Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Inter, and Lille also earned a bye to this stage, where they will be joined by the winners of the eight knockout play-off round ties, featuring the clubs who placed ninth to 24th.

The round of 16 draw takes place on Friday, February 21 at 11am GMT.

Liverpool or Barcelona will play one of the winners of Brest vs PSG or AS Monaco vs Benfica

Arsenal or Inter will play one of the winners of Juventus vs PSV or Feyenoord vs AC Milan

Lille or Villa will play one of the winners of Club Brugge vs Atalanta or Sporting vs Borussia Dortmund

Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen will play one of the winners of Man City vs Real Madrid or Celtic vs Bayern
