When Liverpool appointed Arne Slot to succeed Jurgen Klopp, there was no expectation the Reds would go on to win the Premier League in his first season in charge at Anfield.
And yet, the Dutchman has done just that, sparking huge celebrations for the club’s fans and players as they match Klopp's 2019/20 achievement.
With this now being the second time Liverpool has won the Premier League - a 20th first division title in total, matching Manchester United's tally - comparisons between the two teams were always bound to be made.
And with that in mind, Liverpool.com took a look at just where the 2020 Liverpool squad are now...
Still at Liverpool
There are plenty of the 2020 squad who have been part of this season's successful title win.
Joel Matip, who made over 200 appearances for the Reds, called time on his career back in October, having suffered an ACL injury in December 2023 while playing for Liverpool.
Nathaniel Clyne, who missed the whole 2019/20 season due to injury, now currently plays for Crystal Palace having left Liverpool in 2020 - the right-back wasn't actually present for the trophy presentation, with the club choosing not to renew his contract before it expired at the end of June
Dejan Lovren, who made 10 appearances in the Premier League during the 2020 title winning campaign, is turning out for Greek side PAOK.
Nat Phillips, Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg, who were all part of Liverpool's first team squad that year, are currently playing for Derby County (on loan from Liverpool), Auxerre (on loan from Wolves) and Brentford respectively.
Neco Williams, who made six Premier League appearances for the Reds in 2019/20, has gone on to become a dependable player for Nottingham Forest, capable of playing both left and right-back.
Midfielders
Liverpool's 2025 midfield looks a lot different from 2020
Only Jones and Elliott remain from the Reds squad that lifted the Premier League title then, with Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri all having moved on in recent years.
Fabinho and Wijnaldum are currently playing in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Ittihad and Al-Ettifaq, while Milner is with Brighton & Hove Albion
