The report claims that the Reds have a long-standing interest in Doue, dating back to his time at Rennes, and that the 19-year-old could now be a step closer to ending up at Anfield.

Only signed last summer, Doue has had to settle for a peripheral role.

Ten of his 17 league appearances have come from the bench, and it has been a similar story in the Champions League — although he earned starts in the vital final two games against Man City and Stuttgart, registering an assist in both contests.

That showed the sort of promise which prompted PSG to spend $52m (£42m/€50m) on Doue in the first place.
