Liverpool boss Arne Slot was prevented from discussing his team’s dramatic draw at Everton by his post-match red card.
The Reds were denied victory in their last-ever Goodison derby when a controversial injury-time equaliser from James Tarkowski secured a 2-2 Premier League draw for the hosts on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool had earlier turned the game around after conceding an 11th-minute opener to Beto, with Alexis Mac Allister equalising shortly afterwards and Mohamed Salah netting with 17 minutes remaining.

However, a tetchy game ended in chaos after Tarkowski’s strike was confirmed after a VAR check despite the Reds claiming a clear push on Ibrahima Konate by Beto in the build-up to the goal.
The final whistle prompted mayhem when Abdoulaye Doucoure taunted the away supporters, prompting Curtis Jones to race across and grab the Everton midfielder to prompt a melee involving players from both teams.
Both Doucoure and Jones were given a second yellow and subsequent red, while shortly afterwards Slot was dismissed by referee Michael Oliver.
Slot started to shake hands with Oliver and then exchanged words, prompting the official to swiftly withdraw his hand and then show the Liverpool boss a red card.
Slot’s assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, was also sent off.
And the red card for both Slot and Hulshoff meant no representation was permitted from the Liverpool management team for the regular post-match media activities.
As part of the Football Association’s touchline behaviour charter which was implemented in 2023, any manager or head coach who is sent off during a game is then unable to perform usual media duties after the match.

It meant Slot had already left Goodison by the time Everton manager David Moyes spoke at his post-match press conference.
Slot has already served a one-game touchline ban this season in the League Cup quarter-final win at Southampton in December after picking up three yellow cards.
Both he and Hulshoff will now be banned from at the very least Sunday's Premier League visit of Wolves.
